Summary:
Winter and Max debark safely in London and settle into St George’s Hotel Wembley with less fuss than expected – considering the city was deep in preparations for the Summer Olympics. After a quick nap to shake off the jet lag, they arrange to meet one of Max’s old Templar friends, John Agoston for lunch and drinks.
John turns out to be one of the Templars who assisted the group during mess with the crystal skull that destroyed Sean and Kolin’s home. Max provides proof that he actually has friends who don’t want to shoot him when John greets him warmly.
After introductions and a bit of repast, the conversation turns to the 1st World. Max is troubled throughout the meeting by lack of sleep (due to poor sleep) and a constant stream of communications from various love interests.
Winter and John seemed to hit it off well and much information was exchanged. Winter found that she approved of the Templar’s moto:
“Δεν μπορούν να υπάρξουν διαφωνίες μεταξύ ανδρών και λιονταριών”
(“There can be no covenants between men and lions”)
The encounter concluded with Winter warning John to stay away from rebar and crumbled buildings and Max having a bit of a freak out over her drawing his dream wolf.
Afterward, while Winter toured various London art galleries, Max rushed off to a tryst with his airline attendant acquaintance. Unfortunately, their amour was cut short – Gracie experienced some severe and nearly fatal respiratory distress. Max was barely able to save her, getting her to cough up what seemed to be gallons of brackish water, bits of water plants and even a small toad from her lungs.
The session ends with Max traveling to the hospital where the paramedics have taken Gracie.
